Life with Ella and Emerson

This is a blog dedicated to my beautiful daughters, Ella and Emerson. Emerson was diagnosed with a rare, genetic disorder called Williams Syndrome when she was 5 months old.

Cabo Wabo

What a busy last couple of weeks. Brian and I were in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico last week. We had an awesome time. It was a rewards trip for Brian paid for by his work(best part!). As difficult as it is to leave the girls, it is so incredibly important for us to get away and have time just the two of us. We were a couple again. Granted much of our conversation revolved around the kids and how much we missed them and how cute they are, we did manage to find some other things to talk about. The combination of sunshine and tequila makes it impossible not to have a fantastic time. The Grandmas watched our girls and said that everything went well, though, they would NEVER tell us otherwise. I know that it was both challenging and rewarding and we are so thankful to them. Brian and I were able to come home and pick up right where we left off, like we never missed a beat. That says so much about how they loved and took care of them.

Speaking of Grandmas, my mom turns the big 5-0 tomorrow and I want to send her a huge HAPPY BIRTHDAY! My mom is my best friend and I am so thankful to have her in my life. She is the most kind, caring and generous person I know. These past couple of months have probably been the hardest in her life with the passing of my Grandpa and the total health decline of my Grandma. She has handled everything with such love and dignity. Mom, I love you and strive every day to be a little bit more like you.

Now, as pathetic as this is, I want to share some cute stories about my kids. We are always laughing over here.

Cute Emerson Story - Ella loves to play pretend and a couple of nights ago we were reinacting the "Three Little Pigs". Ella was hiding under a blanket pretending to be the little pigs and, of course, I was the big, bad wolf. Emerson was sitting next to me watching the whole thing. Me: "And I'll huff, and I'll puff, and I'll blooooow your house down!!" I look over at Emerson who has huge, wide eyes, she looks at Ella and then does the cutest little "WHOOOOooooo". Ella and I start cracking up and Emerson was promptly promoted to wolf duty.

Cute Ella Story - Today at the park I am pushing Ella on the swings and as she gets going her shoes smack me square in the chest. As I'm doubled over, she calls out, "Sorry Mommy, I hit your nibbles!!"

Anyway, can you tell I missed my kids. Here is my last pathetic thing I will share. Ella started preschool last week and came home singing this song after her first day. This kid constantly amazes me!
