Life with Ella and Emerson

This is a blog dedicated to my beautiful daughters, Ella and Emerson. Emerson was diagnosed with a rare, genetic disorder called Williams Syndrome when she was 5 months old.

Big Events

We recently celebrated Ella's fourth birthday. I can't believe that I have a four year old. How is that possible?? She is a complete joy in every way. She makes us so happy every day. She is such a girly girl. She loves nail polish, loves to wear dresses, and despises jeans. We went to a trout farm fishing this past weekend and she nearly had a heart attack when we actually caught a fish. She hated it, until mommy caught a trout that happened to be kind of purply and sparkly, "a princess fish". She is also so tender hearted. After she blew out her candles on her birthday she kept asking me if I wanted to know what she wished for. I kept saying "no" that she needed to keep it a secret. After the tenth time, I said "fine, tell me", thinking she for sure wished that she would be a princess when she grew up. Well, she told me that she wished that she would "love her mommy and daddy forever." Little stinker, made me tear up.

Emerson is also growing up and seems to be less babyish and more "2" every day. She can be quite demanding and stubborn if she doesn't get what she wants. She has also thrown a few full blown tantrums lately, mostly over a pig. She has this little realistic pig that makes noises when you touch it. It's running out of batteries though so it sounds more like a sick cat. She will not put it down. I finally hid it today so she would hopefully forget it, and every time I looked at her she snorted. "Yes, Emerson I know you want your pig." When Brian came down from work today, Ella said, "Dad, don't mention the (whisper) pig!" Emerson's vocabulary is exploding and she can say whole phrases from songs. On Ella's birthday she stole the show by singing, "Happy birthday to you" and "How old are you". I nearly fainted.

I am happy to hear that Emerson's speech is coming along. It is amazing their gift of recalling music.

They are both getting so big! I am so proud of them both. I sometimes wish I had a "princess" around in my house too. It seems to be taken over with testosterone. HA!

Love all the pictures!

I am glad I am not the only one who hides toys that become bothersome because they aren't working right and your child just gets frustrated! I hate when I accidentally find them again, give them to her, forget why I hid it, and discover they don't work, lol! The girls just look beautiful!
